JUNE 2015 - A Rosy Glow

The subject of this month's blog was easy to decide on. It's the second anniversary of the Rusty Dusty Team. Lots to celebrate - great items, great members, great support, great team! Due in no small part to the hard work of Rose (founder and captain!) So THANK YOU Rose and CONGRATULATIONS Team  - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

APRIL 2015

This month's blog was inspired by browsing the Team pages of the Rusty Dusty Team - which are beautifully curated by Nancy of NJSImages.  And I was struck in particular by one of the pages "MADE WITH LOVE" This team really has so many great creative artists and it's time this blog celebrated them: crafters, artisans, woodworkers, potters, Seamstresses, Couturiers, jewellers, patchworkers, painters, photographers, collage makers,  digitalizers, knitters, scrapbookers, card fabricators, crocheters, designers, typographers, florists, mosaicists to name but a few!

It's a lot of talent in one place! Here is just a selection:

MARCH 2015

Finally it feels like Spring might just be around the corner.  Last night as I walked home at dusk a blackbird sang me to my door and this morning the dawn chorus had an excited air about it that has been missing all winter. It's as if the birds know that the equinox is almost upon us.
The buds are beginning to swell, the first blossoms are daring to show a bit of colour and the bulbs that have long been dormant are bursting into colourful life.

Judging by the fantastic array of daffodil yellow items available in many of the RDT shops (see a selection below) it seems most of us are looking forward to it!

JANUARY 2015

How did it get here so fast? Happy New Year Everyone!

It is traditional at this time of year to start as you mean to go on. In order to achieve that we find ourselves making long lists of resolutions, promises we must keep..... to work harder, be happier, be kinder, laugh more, cry less, get fit, lose weight, de-stress, and make more sales! Sometimes it's easy to set too many goals too early on and to become dispirited before January is out! So this year I've decided to follow the lead of one my Rusty Dusty team mates - thank you to Jill from BailiwickVintage  for the idea - I've chosen a single word to focus on and strive for and this year's word is 'Optimism' I think that's a good word to start 2015 with.

Judging by the fantastic new items already available in many of your shops (see a selection below) I know most of you have already been hard at work and won't need this little New Year reminder:
''What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.”

POPPY- the Flower of Remembrance
11th November

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
(John Macrae May 1915)
